How to Become a Manton Heritage Sponsor
The Manton Education Council (MEC) is a grassroots program dedicated to providing educational enrichment to both children and adults in the Manton Valley and Shingletown area. MEC goes beyond traditional classroom education to offer a sense of pride, community support, and academic equity, with a focus on creating safe spaces and providing local jobs. The program has grown from a small afterschool initiative serving 18 children to a multifaceted force for education, now serving over 40 children in the region. Today, MEC runs two education programs—Club Mustang Afterschool and Acorns to Oaks Homeschool Enrichment—which offer hands-on learning experiences and foster community engagement through volunteer-led workshops and fundraising efforts.
