Project Formation:
We asked our Club Mustang families to see what needs were arising as we started school this year. Some of the feedback were the need for reliable internet, tools to help learn math, microscopes for science labs, help with purchasing Montessori or Waldorf curriculum, and writing curriculum. After reviewing all the feedback, we came up with the idea of a check-out curriculum library. We feel this will provide much needed support for our families, who are already struggling to quickly learn how to do independent learning or homeschool.
Timeline: We would start purchasing curriculum on January 2nd, 2021, with a key milestone of opening the curricula library for check-out by February 1st, 2021. The curricula library will be housed within our school's library. This project will not have a deadline, as we will continually curate items for the curriculum library, as well as, create new and interesting science lab boxes, and art project boxes to provide hands-on learning.
Funding:
We are seeking a Redding Rancheria Community Fund grant to purchase curriculum and curriculum tools. We will continue to seek funding from our supportive community members. We have regular fundraisers with-in our community, which will be happening this year, albeit a little differently. Instead of our annual Souper Bowl Talent Show, we will have a "Drive-by" Souper Bowl, with a display of the children's art work.
